Frequently asked questions

General

  1. Always place the cash register and/or printer on a stable surface
  2. Never block the system’s ventilation holes.
  3. Don’t clamp the power cord
  4. Avoid the use of the cash register systems near sources of water of heat
  5. Avoid the use of the cash register systems in direct sunlight or rain
  6. Use the on/off switch only when you can’t turn the system on/off through software.
  7. Always read the given instruction manual. If you do not have this, contact our help desk (036 5364169)
  1. You can order till rolls at De Haan IT Nederland B.V.
  2. Turn off the cash register/printer completely before replacing the roll.
  1. Move the lever in the recess at the bottom of the till.
  1. Always turn off the cash register first and remove the plug.
  2. Never take apart your cash register to clean it
  3. To clean the cash register, use a moderately moist and soft cloth.
  4. Never use water or fleeting chemicals, such as thinner, gasoline, or alcohol.
  5. Never leave/let fall metal objects in the cash register or in the printer, this can cause short-circuiting
  6. Never place the cash register directly on top of the drawer. Opening and closing of the till can shorten the system’s lifespan.

The popular Museum card will be sold at an increased price per July first thanks to its high demand. From € 49,95 to € 54,95 for adults; for € 25,00 to € 27,50 for youth under 18. In newsstand sales, the card remains € 4,95 more expensive due to administration costs. (source; Museum association)

  1. Make sure the paper is placed correctly in the printer.
  2. Thermal paper has the property of only being fit for printing on one side. In case the paper is placed incorrectly, nothing will appear on the receipt. Scratch a coin across the paper to ensure it is placed correctly.

Pinning works, chipping doesn’t

  1. Remove the plug from the terminal and plug it back in after 10 seconds.

Pin payment returns the message  ‘Collection’

  1. Press the bottom bar in the registration screen.
  2. Choose ‘EFT options’, then ‘ChipKnip’ and then ‘Collection’.
  3. Then choose ‘Direct’.

Pin payment returns the message  ‘End of day’

  1. Press the bottom bar in the registration screen.
  2. Choose ‘EFT options’, then ‘Totals’ and choose ‘End of day’.
  3. Payment period (for Pin that is the period since the last sign out and for the Chip it’s the period since the last collection).

Pin payment returns the message  ‘Give reprint’

  1. Press the bottom bar in the registration screen.
  2. Choose ‘EFT options’, then ‘Pin’.
  3. Then choose ‘Reprint’.

PI-MOD software

  1. Check if all devices are connected to the network.
  2. Check if the files have been deleted.
  3. Check if the installation has completed correctly.
  1. Check the Baudrate (cash register mode 11)
  2. Check the Com gate (small 1, big 2)
  3. Check if the modem is connected correctly.
  4. Check the cash register number
  5. Check that the modem isn’t turned off
  6. Check that the cash register isn’t turned off
  7. Check that the cable isn’t defective
  1. You have tried to create a thing with the same number. For example, a product with an already used number.
  1. Check that you have entered the correct password
  2. Check that capslock isn’t turned on
  1. Make sure the program is always closed correctly

PI-printers

  1. Check that the printer is turned on
  2. Check that the printer is plugged in
  3. Check that the cable of the printer feed is connected
  4. Check that the printer is connected correctly to the cash register
  5. Check that the paper isn’t stuck
  6. Check the receipt’s status; is it not turned off in the cash register?
  1. Turn the printer off
  2. Pull the lid off the printer and turn the turn the cap to the back
  3. Lift the iron part of the printer, just before the receipt paper. It automatically rotates to the front.
  4. On the left side, you see a white wheel and a colored lever. Turn up the lever. This releases the paper and you can remove the excess paper.
  5. At the start of the roll, make a straight side.
  6. Put the roll back again. Make sure it is placed so that you can see into the roll. It must roll away from you.
  7. Place the beginning of the roll beneath the black axis
  8. Pull the paper through the printer, using the white wheel.
  9. Turn the colored lever back in place
  10. Turn the iron part back. Make sure the paper moves through the slits.
  11. Close the cap again
  12. Turn the printer back on
  13. With the [<-] key on the keyboard, the paper can be carried through automatically
  1. Turn the printer off
  2. Press the button on the printer and the lid clicks open
  3. Remove any excess paper
  4. Place the roll in its position. (beware: the paper comes from below)
  5. Close the lid and make sure paper comes out of the printer.
  6. Turn the printer back on
  7. Press the button on the front, paper automatically moves through
  1. Turn the printer off
  2. Open the lid of the printer by moving the blue button on the side forward.
  3. Remove the roll of paper
  4. Remove any excess paper
  5. Place the roll in its position. (beware: the paper comes from below)
  6. Put the printer’s lid back on and make sure it is closed correctly
  7. Turn the printer back in
  1. Turn off the cash register and remove its plugs
  2. If you hold the cash register upside-down, the round DIN-connectors are on the left
  3. The printer has to be connected to the last connector on the left side

PI-systems

Nothing is visible on the display
1. Use the wheel on the right side of the cash register to increase the display’s brightness

How do I calibrate the display
1. First turn the cash register off
2. Place the null key against the access point
3. Turn the cash register back on
4. choose for the option ‘Calibrate’ (this may take a while)
5. Follow the ‘touch’ cross across the entire screen (precisely in its center)
6. The cash register automatically closes this screen once the process is complete.
The screen is black
1. Check that the cash register is plugged in
2. Check that the cash register is turned on
3. Check that the cable is plugged into the cash register
cash register has crashed (for example during a filled journal)
1. Place the null key against the access point • turncash register off and on
2. Place the null key against the access point until the screen reads ‘speed’
3. Press ‘retour system’ to enter the system menu
4. >> exec >> 12 >> valid >> run

Pin & Chip

  1. Press the bottom bar in the registration screen.
  2. Choose ‘EFT options’, then ‘ChipKnip’ and then ‘Collection’.
  3. Then choose ‘Direct’.

  2. Choose ‘EFT options’, then ‘Pin’.
  3. Then choose ‘Reprint’.
  1. Press the bottom bar in the registration screen.
  2. Choose ‘EFT options’, then ‘Totals’ and choose ‘End of day’.

POS-systems

  1. Adjust the screen’s brightness
  2. Make sure that the cash register isn’t in power saver mode
  1. Check that the screen isn’t maximally rotated.
  2. Check that the protective hood on the backside is placed correctly and that the small levers on each side of the cap point downward.
  1. Check that the power cord is connected properly, both into the cash register as well as the plug.
  1. Immediately contact our help desk. A repairman will have to visit to determine the cause and solve any problems.
  1. Windows has to be installed again. Contact our help desk.
  1. Take note of the error with as much detail as possible. Then contact our help desk.
  2. From the error, we can determine whether a repairman will have to visit.

Querion-printers

  1. Open the printer’s lid by sliding the blue button on the side forward.
  2. Remove the roll of paper
  3. Remove any excess paper.
  4. Place the roll in its position. (beware: the paper comes from below)
  5. Put the lid back on and make sure it’s closed correctly
  6. Press the ‘Clear’ button the remove the error

Querion-systems

  1. Turn the cash register off using the switch on the right-hand side (0-mode)
  2. Turn the function lock to P-mode while the cash register is off
  3. Put the cash register back on using the switch (I-mode)
  4. On the display, there appears a code, starting with a “T” or an “M”, followed by 6 numbers.
  5. Turn the function lock back to R-mode
  6. You can now normally use the cash register again

Win€ash-printers

  1. Check that the printer is on
  2. Check that the printer’s plugs are plugged in
  3. Check that the cable is connected to the printer
  4. Check that the printer is correctly connected to the cash register
  5. Check that the paper isn’t stuck
  6. Check that the drawer is closed correctly
  7. Check the receipt’s status; has it been cancelled from the cash register?
  1. Turn the printer off
  2. Lift the lid and remove the paper roll
  3. Remove all excess paper
  4. Place the roll back into the printer
  5. Close the lid and turn the printer back on
  1. Check that the printer is active
  2. Click in the registration screen on the red question mark in the lower left
  3. Click the red printer button and then on printer test

Win€ash-software

  1. Has the communication between cash register and terminal been broken during a transaction? If so, a reprint will be demanded the next time, to print results from the previous transaction, before a new transaction can be made.
  1. Press print and before you press OK, select the option ‘to file’ and fill in the location you want to save it to.
  1. Click on the rooster icon in the blue screen and close Win€ash so that you return to windows
  2. Click on the program CashUtil (icon; an umbrella) on your desktop.
  3. Choose the first option Clean, then Repair, and then Start.
  4. After the repairs are done, Win€ash has to be opened again.
  5. Make another Z-stroke
  1. In case the receipt printer prints lines normally first, and then no longer does, the mark DSR/DTR (at printer settings) has probably not been checked.
  2. In case the printer prints strange symbols directly, the Baudrate (in printer settings)is probably incorrect.

The cash register doesn’t react and the following message is on the cash register: Continue without this cash register?

  1. The cash register that does not react, has to be turned off and on again
  2. Click, after the cash register has rebooted, the CLR key on the device where the error appeared.
  1. If there’s a red exclamation mark in the status bar, it means there’s a  malfunction with the printer and/or the network.
  1. Go to X/Z rapport. At Journal you can look at the receipts per period.
  1. Click on the rooster icon in the blue screen and close Win€ash so that you return to windows
  2. Click on the program CashUtil (icon; an umbrella) on your desktop.
  3. Choose the first option Clean, then Repair, and then Start.
  4. After the repairs are done, Win€ash has to be opened again.
